Privacy policy
Last updated 10 October 2026
This policy explains what this website collects, who receives it, how long it is kept and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written for TDK Automotive Ltd, trading as Arnie's MOT Centre, and it covers this website only.
Who we are

Registered office: Potenza House, Stalham Road Industrial Estate, Littlewood Lane, Hoveton, Norfolk, NR12 8DZ. You can reach us at bookings@arniesmot.co.uk or on 01692 780 938.
What this website collects
Nothing you type. There is no form on this website: no booking form, no enquiry form, no newsletter signup and no account. You cannot submit anything to us through this site, so we collect nothing that way.
If you email or call us. We get whatever you choose to tell us, such as your name, your vehicle's registration and when you would like your MOT, and we use it to reply to you and to book your test. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone for their own purposes.
Anonymous visit statistics, unless you opt out. We use Plausible Analytics to count which pages are read, how visitors arrived, roughly where in the world they are, what kind of device they use, and how many tap our phone number or email address. It also measures how far down each page you scroll and how long the page is open, and counts clicks on links to other websites. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and gives you no identifier. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in understanding how our website is used. UK law allows statistics like these to be collected without asking first, provided we tell you plainly and let you object free of charge, which you can do below with one click.
Technical data needed to deliver the page. Like every website, ours cannot send you a page without knowing where to send it. Our hosting and security provider receives your IP address, the address of the page you asked for, your browser type and similar network information, purely to serve the site and to block attacks on it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website.
How we count visits, and how to opt out
Plausible Analytics. Plausible Analytics is a privacy-focused analytics service run by Plausible Insights OÜ in Estonia, with its data stored in Germany. Our pages load its small script, which sends the address of the page, the address of the page you came from, and the clicks described above. Plausible's servers use your IP address and browser details to work out your approximate location and device, and to tell one visit from another on the same day, using a code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. It does not store your IP address or your browser details.
Opting out.
One click, here, at any time:
Your browser is set to send a privacy signal (Global Privacy Control), so this website is already not counting your visits. There is nothing to click.
The button stops Plausible Analytics counting you. The page reloads, and the page you were on sends one last note of how far down it you scrolled and how long it was open. After that, nothing is sent from your browser. To remember your choice, we store one marker in your browser, the same for everyone who opts out, which contains nothing about you. Click again to be counted again. If your browser is set to send a privacy signal (Global Privacy Control), we treat that as an opt-out automatically, and you do not need to click anything.
Everything this site stores on your device
arnies-opt-out, in your browser's own storage, only if you opt out: remembers that you do not want to be counted, until you opt back in or clear your browser's site data.plausible_ignore, in your browser's own storage, only if you opt out: tells Plausible not to count you, for as long as the first.
That is the complete list. If you never opt out, this site stores nothing on your device at all. There are no cookies, no advertising, no social pixels, no session recording and no embedded third parties. The fonts are this website's own files.
The "Find us on Google Maps" link takes you to Google's website only if you click it; from then on, Google's own privacy policy applies.
Who receives your information
- Our hosting and security provider: your IP address and request data, to serve this site and protect it from attack.
- Plausible Insights OÜ: the page, where you came from, and the clicks described above, unless you opt out; your IP address and browser details, briefly, to work out location and device, and not stored. It provides the visit statistics.
- Our email provider: your email, if you email us, because it runs our email.
Plausible is named because it is the one service that counts visits on this site. Each of these acts on our instructions, and none of them is permitted to use your information for their own purposes. Our hosting and email providers operate global networks, so some information is processed outside the United Kingdom under the safeguards in their data protection terms. Plausible stores its data in the European Union, which UK law recognises as protecting it adequately. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Unless obliged or permitted by law to do so, your information will never be sold or disclosed to unauthorised third parties.
How long visit statistics are kept
Plausible keeps its statistics for as long as this website uses it, and they are deleted when it stops. They contain nothing that identifies you.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you, and ask for a copy.
- Rectification, if what we hold is wrong or incomplete.
- Erasure. Ask us to delete information we hold about you and we will, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Restriction of what we do with it, in the circumstances the law allows.
- Objection to processing we carry out under our legitimate interests.
- Portability. Ask for it in a portable format.
- Opt out of being counted, at any time, with one click on this page.
To exercise any of these, email bookings@arniesmot.co.uk. We will ask for enough information to be confident you are who you say you are, and no more than that. There is no charge, and no automated decision-making on this site.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your information badly, tell us first at bookings@arniesmot.co.uk. We would rather put it right than have it escalated.
You do not have to come to us first. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. There is no database, no login and no visitor data stored on the site, because there is nothing to store. Nobody can promise perfect security and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever occurs that is likely to risk your rights and freedoms, we will report it to the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours, and tell you if it affects you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, the date at the top changes and the new version applies from the day it is published. You can contact us about it at bookings@arniesmot.co.uk.
